Face Painting Creation
Students can refer to the instructor or choose their own colors for the face painting. They should symmetrically fill in the colors on the face painting to create their own unique design.
Aromatic Pouch
Traditional Chinese aromatic pouches are often made of silk and filled with ingredients such as realgar, aromatic herbs, and mugwort (primarily used for mosquito repellent).
Weaving Grass Grasshoppers
Grass weaving, as a folk craft, has a long-standing history. Through workshops, this art form will be brought into the campus, allowing students to learn the basics of weaving grass grasshoppers and grasp the core concepts of grass weaving.
Chinese Knotting
Each basic knot is named according to its shape and meaning. Different decorative knots can be combined together or paired with other auspicious ornaments featuring patterns such as "Double Blessings," "Double Happiness," and "Good Luck," to convey blessings or wishes.
Windmill
Made from straw and paper strips, windmills are now also made with paper or plastic blades. They symbolize good fortune and represent the idea of "wealth flowing continuously."
Flour Dolls
Using flour as the main material, steamed dough is shaped into different colors through techniques such as kneading, cutting, and sticking, creating intricate character figures. Students can make unique flour dolls according to their preferences.
Calligraphy / Rainbow Calligraphy
An important component of Chinese art, calligraphy is an art form that is based on Chinese characters, which are ideographic. Students can try using brush pens to write on paper and learn the techniques of calligraphy.
Hanfu Try-On
Students can try on Hanfu to experience traditional attire and compare it with modern clothing styles.
Shadow Puppet Making and Experience
Using flat and jointed movable silhouettes, traditional shadow puppetry is performed by manipulating puppets with rods, placing them between a light source and a translucent screen. Students can assemble their own puppets, and once completed, the instructor will assist them in creating a unique shadow play on the screen. Students can also create their own dialogue and storylines.
Ink Wash Painting
Using rice paper as the medium, different areas are repetitively printed with ink and water, creating layered effects that manifest the beauty of ink wash painting through various artworks.
Fan Painting
Students can create unique designs on fans. The instructor will provide reference patterns for students to follow or encourage free creativity. Support will be offered based on each student's abilities.
Calligraphy on Fan Surfaces
Calligraphy written on the surface of fans. Fans were used by ancient people to create a breeze, and the fan surface serves as a medium for writing and painting, appreciated for both aesthetic and collectible purposes.
